Shigemi Kashiwabara, Pro-nuclear mayor? 柏原重海氏は上関原発推進?

Shigemi Kashiwabara (柏原重海) won re-election as mayor of Kaminoseki (上関), Yamaguchi Prefecture (山口県), on September 25.
He seems to advance the plan to build the Kaminoseki nuclear power plant.

However, Kaminoseki is located at a so-called "biodiversity hotspot".

The journalist Sheril Kirshenbaum points out that a worrying anti-biodiversity trend is emerging.

The phrase "anti-biodiversity trend" may be unfamiliar to Japanese people, but such trend definitely exists in Japan.
Despite the Fukushima nuclear accident,  some nuclear power plants such as Kaminoseki may be still constructed without careful consideration.

The plan to build the Kaminoseki nuclear power plant is certainly a kind of "anti-biodiversity trend"
